Watch The Missing

The Missing is a British drama and anthology series that debuted in 2014. It is also a dual-language television program, featuring spoken dialogue in both the European French and British English languages. The premise involves a retired French investigator, Julien Baptiste, as he goes about solving missing persons cases that have long since been forgotten or lost traction.

The first season of The Missing was broken up into eight hour-length episodes. The central case of the first season focuses upon Oliver Hughes, a young English boy who went missing while his parents were visiting France during the World Cup of 2006. After eight years pass without any advancement in the case, Oliver's now-divorced father, Tony, finds a clue that may lead him to a reunification with Oliver; Tony enlists the help of detective Baptiste to chase down the leads and turn a possibility into a reality.

While the first series' plot focuses on locations such as Paris and London, most scenes were actually filmed in and around cities within the country of Belgium. The theme of the second series implies that while it may be wonderful for a person to reunite with lost person, the experience can also haunt them.
